What an incredible weekend celebrating the 70th Polish Children's Reunion. The logo designed specially for the weekend is dedicated in memory and gratitude to all my Polish teachers at Polish School who taught me how to speak the language, sing, dance and pray in Polish, and to cook all those delicious Polish recipes and dishes we so much enjoy. Sto Lat! For ever a Polish Kiwi!
Basia is hosting a stamp making workshop at the Wellington City to Sea Museum as part of the Celebrating Everything Polish Festival 25 -26 Oct 2014 in commemoration of the Polish Childrens 70th Reunion.
Her unique designs are based on traditional Polish paper cutouts that reflect her Polish heritage and NZ place of birth. Basia's mother Eugenia Smolnicki nee Piotuch is one of the 733 Polish orphan who came to Pahiatua in 1944.
Children and adults are welcome to create their own stamps or print their own stories using Basia's hand-made designs. Stamps can be rotated, repeated and printed in grid patterns to create endless original artist prints.
Workshop starts 10.30am - 12 noon Sunday 27 October. Book now -
